Great read again 'Sam On Sport'. Your knowledge of different sports is phenominal and second to none. Very entertaining and informative, even though some of it is above my head. Thank you. Keep the blogs coming. Dedicated fan.

I love how there are fans from elsewhere on Earth in our little NFL community. Speaking myself as a NFL fan who is not American, the league would be so much cooler if it let more non-American culture into itself. American sports leagues can often be compulsively American. The less of that the better.

I love the story about becoming a 49er fan immediately proceeding the worst era in franchise history. It reminds me of my own experience of being a Jaguar fan in the post-2007 malaise that (other than 2017) has not yet truly ended.

Hi Robbie,

Thanks for taking the time to comment. I agree that it’s amazing that people from all over the world can enjoy and appreciate a particular sport, even if it does not necessarily fit in with our own culture. I see your point about sometimes being too American but in actuality I think it is some of the pure ‘Americana’ that actually drew me in as well. Nobody does it bigger!

Haha yes I certainly picked my moment to become a fan but I think that’s the beauty of these things. You stick by your team whatever the circumstances. I find the Jags an interesting one as the money is certainly there, Khan will put in when he needs to, and they have talent, especially with Lawrence, but it just never seems to stick. Hopefully for you they have a good season this time round.
